8.3 Care and Cleaning
​
The foam padding on the shoulder strap, back support and the hip belt are the most prone to smells because it absorbs perspiration from the body. A simple way to wash a backpack is to use gentle soap to wash these areas and rinse with lots of water. Do a quick visual check to make sure that there are no mud stains on the body as well as the base of the backpack. You can also air-dry the bag under strong sunlight to remove the smell.
