Precautions
Never refill the burner with methylated spirits while it is lit. Always extinguish the flame first and allow the burner to cool. Otherwise the highly combustible spirit might catch fire and cause injury to the user.
Never leave the stove unattended while it is burning. People might be injured by the invisible flame.
Never leave the handle on when a pan is on the burner as it will get hot and injure the next user.
Keep denatured alcohol in a well-marked, separate bottle to avoid confusing it with a drink.
