about us
SMUX Trekking Team
SMUX Trekking Team was started as a platform for students passionate about trekking to prepare and to build camaraderie for tough treks together.

As our team has grown bigger, to accommodate trekkers of different levels of abilities, we now have introductory treks (basic level), mid-term and winter treks (intermediate level) as well as our Altitude Series treks in summer (advanced level).

Most of our members come in without any experience trekking overseas or even running regularly. While fitness is not our ultimate goal in mind, you will inevitably build stamina as you continue to join us for our weekly #trekrunwednesdays.

A legendary trekker has once said, you run (and trek) fast enough to reach your destination, but slow enough to enjoy the process. We also have a ‘leave no man behind’ philosophy so you’ll always find someone running (and trekking) by your side. We can confidently say you’ll leave with eyes lifted to higher peaks, or if you prefer- an attitude for altitude.
Attitude for Altitude
Attitude for Altitude, our tagline.
Attitude, the essential for trekking. With your own willpower, determination and effort then can you achieve, to go up and go far. The attitude you have matters, towards various aspects of trekking: in the planning, in preparing logistics, training hard and pushing yourself.
Altitude here is both figurative and literal. Literal, because it is something we try to push for and achieve. To go high. Figurative because it represents the challenging and pushing through our own personal boundaries. Not all our treks focus on altitude – sometimes it is the terrain, the length of the entire trail, our the highlight is not the summit. We sought a variety, with the aim of pushing our limits.
